Raspberry Flax Seed Jam

Raspberry Flax Seed Jam is a great way to manage your berries. When you have your own Raspberry bushes, create an abundance of berries at the same time. There is just a limit to how many you want to eat. When I have too many, I pick a couple of cups and make some jam. The homemade jam is a healthier substitute than what I purchase in the store.

Flax seed is a healthy ingredient. It has omega-3. Some research indicates Flax seed helps moderate weight, reduce cholesterol, and manage blood pressure.

You will know that this jam is different because it is more tart and sour than sweet. But that is OK. The recipe only has a small amount of sugar from the honey. The taste of the jam reminds me that I am eating something healthy.

Raspberry flax seed jam is runny but that is not a bad thing. You can add some olive oil and vinegar and you will have a raspberry salad dressing.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of raspberries
  • 1/2 lemon of juice
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 tablespoons of flax seeds

Directions

  1. Blend the raspberries, lemon juice and honey in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add the flax seeds and blitz the mixture again.
  3. Transfer to a clean container. You can keep it in the fridge for a few days.
